The South Atlantic region (which includes Virginia, the Carolinas, and Florida) fared better than the U.S. as a whole, with cement consumption increasing 4% over 2010’s level. Continued price erosion, brought on by intense competition combined with input cost inflation weighed down results. Turnover in the U.S.A. decreased by 4% to €304 million and EBITDA turned negative for the first time to losses of €6 million.
